My approach is simple: I take a detailed look at your property, learn about how you live in it as your home, and speak with you about your plans and ambitions for the future. We then work together to make thoughtful, practical choices regarding home energy improvements, within a time frame that works for you.

Home Appraisal for Domestic Clients - £180
Includes: a site visit and consultation conversation to cover diagnostic review or to discuss your ideas for the property, with suggestions and guidance re heating, hot water, insulation.

Home Survey for Domestic Clients - £620
Includes: a pre-meeting reading of plans followed by a site visit and consultation conversation to discuss your ideas for the property. We then look at developing a strategy for the home heating, to suit budget and timescale of plans.

I’ll carry out an initial heat loss survey, which along with a report of site-visit findings, will be sent to you as part of a medium to long-term improvement plan with an actions timeline. A follow-up online meeting will review the strategy, and explain how it can be used as a working document to keep home improvement planning on track.

A final digital document will be sent to the client to keep as a living plan that can be updated as your project evolves.

Independent Project Consultation for Domestic Clients - variable rate
For an ongoing project I offer independent coaching, advice and guidance at an hourly rate.

Trade Consultation for professionals from £180
An offer for Architects, Project Managers, Retrofit Consultants and Designers working on Light Commercial or Residential projects in Cornwall and looking for expertise regarding plumbing and heating work. 

Area covered - In-person consultations are offered within a 50 mile radius of Falmouth, Cornwall, further by agreement may be subject to an additional fuel fee. Online consultations are also offered, please get in touch for more information.

Initial payments of consultancy fees are due in advance of our first meeting.


Plumbing & Heating Installation



PlumbMaid works with a team of experienced and skilled professionals on both installation and maintenance of heating and plumbing systems. All gas work via PlumbMaid is provided by Gas Safe business Peter Jones Plumbing & Heating, Gas Safe 193061.

Plumbing and heating work can come in all shapes and sizes, we are happy to make a free site visit to view small to medium jobs and talk through work required, and provide an initial estimate.

For more complex installations for example - heating system refurbishments and upgrades, hot & cold water system replacements, extensions, or problems with damp and mould, we treat our visit as a diagnostic assessment, charged at our first hour rate.

We will suggest a way forward, and where appropriate provide you with a report or detailed estimate for works. Should you choose to go ahead with the works detailed, 50% of this initial charge will be discounted from your final bill. On booking in the work we will draw up a proposed timeline towards completion, and make introductions to other trades where required. 

Sovay believes good communication is key to all successful working partnerships, and regularly keeps in touch regarding updates and progress. We are always happy to answer any queries you may have, or to talk through any aspect of our work together.

Diagnostic assessments, breakdowns and repairs are charged at our hourly rates.

First hour of visit £120, thereafter please see the rates below,

Single plumber: £45/hour, £30/half hour
£280 day-rate for longer jobs
Team of two: £80/hour, £50/half hour
£520 day-rate for longer jobs

Out of hours emergencies are charged at double time.
Minimum charge one hour.

All payments for plumbing and heating work should be made upon receipt of invoice, and received within 7 days. Longer jobs require a deposit. Follow this link for my full Terms & Conditions.
