Heating Consultancy

‘Most of us want to make our homes better places to live. We want to maximise their warmth, minimise their impact on the environment, improve their heating efficiency, and reduce our bills.

Installing a heat pump, replacing a boiler, or upgrading radiators are all big and often expensive decisions. They can affect your everyday life while the work is happening, and they can shape how your home feels and functions for years afterwards.

I’m here to help you work out the best way forward with independent assesment, advice and guidance.

My approach is simple: I look at how you actually live in your home, and help you make thoughtful, practical choices that improve its energy efficiency in ways that really work for you.

I can also help you make sense of renewable-energy grants - whether a grant is right for you, for your home, and at this point in time.

Together, we work to future-proof your home and reduce its environmental impact.’ Sovay Berriman, PlumbMaid

Installers are essential, they’re on the tools already and have so much knowledge about customers, pipes, homes, heating, yet their often the least listened to when we talk about decarbonising heat.

Is this part of our ingrained classism? Lack of respect for dirtier work?

How best can installers be supported and encouraged to be leaders in the transition to renewables?

Listen to me and Lysette Hacking talk about our expreiences as part of the 2.4% of plumbers who are women on BBC Radio 4’s Women’s Hour.

We also discuss plumbing training, the impact of the ongoing #austerity programme, and that many people feel unsafe with the traditional trades offer. Let’s make access to mundane essential services more equitable
